Danielle Joiner

Danielle Joiner began studying piano at age ten. After studying under Kelly Coppage, a Julliard graduate, Danielle attended Stetson University and continued her piano studies with Dr. Michael Rickman. In addition to the piano, she has been playing the flute for about 15 years. Her performing opportunities include the Stetson University orchestra and band as well as the orchestra at Idlewild Baptist Church. Danielle's memberships throughout the years include the Florida Flute Association, Sigma Alpha Iota, National Guild, NFMC, and FFMC. During her junior year at Stetson, she began her teaching career at the Community School of Music. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in piano and flute performance with outside emphasis on Psychology and minor in Spanish, she began her piano and flute studio which is now located in Land O Lakes, FL. Currently through the Florida Federation of Music Clubs, students participate in performing various pieces to be rated and judged. This is a successful program in which students advance each year and receive trophies for doing so. Recitals are given twice a year.

Danielle’s goal as a music educator is to instill an appreciation for music, a gift God has given us to enjoy and use for His glory. Mrs. Joiner uses a number of different method books for the beginning piano student such as Alfred, Faber and Faber, or Schaum, depending on the student’s age and personality. For the intermediate student, she prefers guiding students to the great classical composers such as Mozart, Bach, Chopin, etc. The popular Rubank music books are coupled with fun solo books for the flute student. Students are encouraged to use theory and technique books as a tool to strengthen one’s understanding of musical language. Weekly lessons are curved towards a positive and holistic experience. Danielle is a fun-loving teacher who is serious about cultivating love for music in children and adults.
